An Eight Vote Landslide: 2012 Iowa Caucus

Republican Candidates for the 2012 Presidential Election
The 2012 Iowa Caucus was definitely one to remember. With just an eight point win, Mitt Romney is now in the lead for the Republican presidential candidacy. Romney's close win was against Senator Rick Santorum. Romney had a vote count of 30,015 and Santorum had a count of 30,007. With the election just around the corner, the race is starting to get really close.

Will Romney have the same luck with the future caucuses to come? Let's hope so. Contrary to the other candidates tactics, Romney is appealing to a different group of voters. Candidates like Santorum and Perry have reached out to a more conservative voting pool. Romney is more willing to reach out to the general public. Hopefully this win will help be a good crutch for the New Hampshire caucus next week.

A predicted poll from the New York Times is in favor of Romney. It's said that Romney has a 99% chance of winning with a projected number of 42.8% votes for the New Hampshire caucus. It seems like this second place runner is starting to have a great turn around. If he continues on this path, we may just be looking at our official Republican candidate for the 2012 presidential election.

Digital Divide

When people commonly think of the phrase "Digital Divide", do not think of the separation that is occurring among the United States population. Digital divide is refers to the amount and quality of technology that is distributed around the U.S. or any other country/region. It can cause a split in population because not many have the same amount of internet access as others. In the more urban areas on the U.S. internet has become a necessity for average Americans. Most people spend their time researching information or surfing the web for leisure. With America being one of the worlds most technologically advanced countries, you would think that all if not at least three-fourths of the country would be up to date with technology.
Not many people know that those who do not have computers will be effected in the future.  As time goes by the demand for computers is increasing. when you think of a computer, many people think of laptap or desk top computers. In this case its not just your average computer but its cellphones, ipods, ipads, and any other piece of technology that can be connected to the internet. As we progress the prices for computer will increase. What will happen to those people who did not have computers then? Most of the people living in rural areas do not have computers because the access was not given to them in the area they live in or they are not economically sound to get one.
I think that the Divide needs to end here. If is not fair for those who are living in rural areas to not have the same access as me ( a D.C. resident). I believe that if they U.S. wants to progress then they need to help out the future generations by giving us all the same amount of access. Great minds come from all around but how will we be able to give these minds the chance to develop and progress if it is not given access to the world around it.

Nip Tuck

In California there is an arguement going on among the Jewish community over whether circumcition is a positive or negative decidsion for newborn Jewish males. I t has been apart of the Judaism religion to have the operation done but Lloyd Schofield has had enough of it. There are some members of the community that have no reason to change it. He on the other had think that it should be made into a law to make circumcition  illegal.
The debate has two levels of oppistion. There are different views on it in both the Jewish and Muslim faith. In the Nation of Islam it is apart of their faith to have a circumcition done on newborn males. It even talks about it in the article I read. It is apart of the religion that has been practiced for years. It is not a simple choice to make but it seems to be one of the most important. A college professer from a Muslim college also disagrees with Schofield's choice.
It also brings up the issue of human right. Is it ok to have your parents make a choice like that without childs opinion on it. I personally think that it should be up to the child to make that happen. I fell that at the right age that if the child or young adult wants to have it done then it should be up to them. I live in a Baptist household but my step father is Muslim. My mother and him had a child together but he was circumcized. I personally think that should have been my brothers choice to have it done. If my parents are letting choose which religion he wants to live his live by then being circumcized should have been an option.
I think that this will become an on going event. I don't think that this will be settled anytime soon. As it progresses new elements will come into play. Health issues, personally issues or even on outreach in politics.

A Bigger Picture

Ok so my teacher thought that it would be a good idea to have a quest speaker to come to my class and give us the one on one low down on how this Internet game works. Her name was Margie Newman. She greeted my class with the warmest smile. My first thought was that this lady was going to go on and on about the importance of her job and how the internet came into play. It turned out that she fooled me. I was blown away  by what this lady had to say. She taught me that there is a fine line between introducing  yourself over the internet and putting all your business out there.
It had me thinking that maybe there are certain things that I give to the digital world that should be left private. It brings me back to our class discussion abut what things we should that are private to Internet uses and what can be open to the public. Alot of my peers had different views on the matter but I think that its up to us to Internet aware. I think that it is best to keep it simple and not go into too much detail. There should still be some mystery to yourself.
So I decided to try it out. I made myself an About me account so I can be my own guinea pig. I hope thing go well. The Internet is not a diary but a link to the world around us. Explore it without giving up to much.

Cairo Turn Around

I am kind of late with the events happening in Cairo but it is better late then never. So these Egyptians are a creative bunch. This rioting bunch has really shown that the people of today are living a digitally run society. So the people of Cairo are protesting their president, who has been in office for 30 years. That is crazy.

So the crazy part that gets me is that the protest was organized over the Internet.  When their Internet connection was cut off the population was able to use different Google features to send tweets over the phone.
The fact that they were able to connect through the Internet shows great possibilities for many people around the world. The rioting has been going on for about three weeks but today he decided to step down. I personally do not know anyone form Cairo but I am glad! I would not think that I would be able to take having the same president in office for 30 years. It is better for the people that the military is there but what happens next?

A Comunication Evolution.!

Communication has changed alot as the years have progressed. From the early years of American history communication has evolved slowly but surely. It was until recently that there has been a more extensive variety of how you chose to get in contact with the world around us.

Dating back 30,00 to 37,000 years  communication was found on the the walls of caves. Cavemen were the first to give this communication thing a whirl. Communication has come to evolve in so many ways BUT has it really changed the world for the better? I don't think so!

We seem to take the many sources of communication for granted. We miss use the advancements for our ouw lesure enjoyments instead of trying to use them tob promot the good in the world. During Paul Revere's he used a simple flicker of the lamp to tell others that the Redcoats were coming. In todays society we care more about ourselves than others to even try to help the common good.

Intro ( My first blog)

Well, Its quite simple. I am a new blogger looking to spread the word through my own eyes. I am a student who wants to open others eyes to what the young and voiceless have to say. My interest are talking on the phone(like most American teens) and hanging out with friends, but on the flip side I like to learn more out the world around me. Most of my friends don't know this about me but I took a great interest in completing  different types of community service activities. I get joy out of knowing that I have made someones day by simply painting their school or working in their unfinished garden. The achievement that comes from it is the greatest feeling.

Personally, I feel that blogging will give me a chance to really be able to express my thought to a more diverse group. By the end of the school year, I want to be able to sit back and look at this blogg in awe, knowing that I was able to connect my thoughts and views to the digital world with any regrets. Academically, I want to gain a resourceful way to find and share information to those who use this blogg. I intend to wrote about what really goes on with teens in high school. People don't seem to realize that alot has change within  the pass decade for high school students. Their is so much going on that alot of adults overlook. I want my blogg to be the inside scoop to what really goes on in the life of high schoolers.

I feel the only intimidating thing that can occur about blogger is that I will not have anyone to read what I wrote. I really want to reach out to the adult world or even to those teens who feel like they are alone. I really want my blogg to be a hit. There are to many people in this world to ever feel like your alone. I know that there is someone that will reach out to my blogg. I just hope they find me!
